Anne Thompson new head of Center for Environmental Chemistry and Geochemistry (CECG)

Professor Anne Thompson (Meteorology, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences) is the new director of the CECG with Ming Tien (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Eberly College of Science) serving as the new associate director.

Among the challenges ahead are increasing the center's visibility on campus, writing research proposals at the interfaces within the earth system, and expanding the center's mission beyond Penn State, for example, reaching out to other universities for the Environmental Chemistry Student Symposium in 2009.
